The most appropriate thing to do is tell the executive, if you can, why you don’t feel he or she will be right for the position and let them know out of respect for their time and yours, you should end the interview. If you can’t tell the executive, make sure you limit the meeting by stating you only have a few minutes to meet with them and take that time to ask them some questions. You might find they change your mind, and if not you at least limit your time
