RESPONSIBILITITES
The Executive Director (ED) leads and manages the overall operations and staff of the Institute in accordance with policies and goals established by the Board of Directors. The ED is responsible for managing the development of the Institute's strategic plan, annual business plans and budgets and ensuring their effective execution. Further responsibilities include: leading and developing a strong, results-oriented management team focused on achieving the organization's goals and objectives and delivering high quality services, programs, and educational offerings to the membership.
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide the leadership, vision and management for the Institute's operations.
Provide leadership to the staff management team, appointed and elected officers and members to ensure the achievement of the Institute's mission and goals. Manage the strategic planning process in conjunction with the Board.
Oversee and manage budget development and identify new sources of revenue from valuable new offerings to members and other participants in the construction industry.
Manage and cultivate a robust membership retention and attraction program, and ensure that the Institutes offerings are aligned to the needs of these memberships.
Build and enhance relationships with the CSI Board, including regional and chapter leadership. Demonstrate responsiveness to the needs of the chapters across the country and internationally.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to Institute operation.
Lead a results-oriented, responsive, and well integrated senior management team, focused on a common set of goals and objectives designed to meet the needs of CSI's growing membership.
Oversee and participate in the implementation of CSI's new governance structure once approved by the membership.
Implement CSI's new branding strategy once approved by its Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS
In light of these responsibilities, the successful candidate will:
Have significant strategic and business planning experience and a track record for building a results-oriented team with the ability to implement these objectives effectively and within budget.
Have held a prior leadership position in a mid-to-large multi-discipline organization at the CEO or COO position with direct management responsibility for a budget and staff of similar scope and size.
Strong track record of successful fiscal management experience.
Have strong communications skills - someone who can clearly articulate the message and command the respect of his/her audience. The ED must have strong listening skills.
