What is a Maintenance Electrician job description?
The Maintenance Electrician will support the manufacturing facility on 2nd shift. Responsibilities will be to repair and fabricate control panels, power line feeds, and maintenance of new and existing circuitry. This is to include, but not limited too, fabrication of parts for felt line and sewing line machinery, and performing preventative maintenance on all machinery and identify and correct defects to prevent down time. The successful candidate must be able to operate all shop equipment including welders, drill presses, lathes, end mills and hand tools, as well as be able to use precision measuring instruments and read blueprints.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years experience in the electrical field. Journeysman License or equivalent; the ability to obtain one requires three years experience in the electrical field. Must be computer literate with a general knowledge of electricity and mechanics. This individual must be able to read and interpret specifications, operation manuals, diagrams, blueprints and technical bulletins while performing maintenance, troubleshooting or corrective repairs. Knowledge of the use of specialized tools and equipment to perform necessary maintenance and functions and to troubleshoot equipment is required. Working knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and safety practices is a must. EOE M/F/D/V
