Lead regional marketing, underwriting and servicing teams to meet or exceed distribution objectives
Develop and retain a highly competent regional staff and a profitable agency force to create a long term positive impact on the region's ability to achieve the planned combined ratio/PTOI target
Direct the achievement of written premium, loss ratio, mix of business, retention and expense goals that support organizational growth and profitability in support of strategic market direction and objectives

Guide and participate in marketing and underwriting team efforts in identifying and capitalizing on agency and market opportunities for increased profit as well as identifying agencies or market niches which represent sources of problems or increased risk of loss
Monitor competitor and market changes and request appropriate resources from Regional and Corporate staff to make the necessary changes to meet marketing, pricing and customer needs
Track legal and legislative activities that impact the region and bring issues to Company President and Insurance Operations staff, seeking assistance and support as needed
Direct marketing and underwriting teams in selecting and pricing risks and managing geographic and line of business mix to develop a sound book of business and achieve loss ratio objectives
Ensure risk selection and pricing are based upon sound development and analysis of information and that filings and regulatory requirements are met
Monitor competition through marketing and underwriting teams and personal contact with customers. Make recommendations for improvement to existing products and the development of new ones
Support product development, underwriting, and actuarial staff on product development and program design
Develop the overall Regional annual budget and support adherence to annually established budget parameters
Attract, develop and retain competent, professional and proactive team members
Set high standards and expect high performance of team to meet both short and long term regional and company objectives
