What is Construction Ammonia Technician Job Description ?
Major Function & Scope:
The Ammonia Refrigeration technician will be responsible for ensuring safe operation of the ammonia system and plant utilities to include: boilers, air compressors and HVAC.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintaining refrigeration equipment and plant utilities such as boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, valves, etc.
Documenting daily activities pertaining to repairs and awareness of potential problems on a work status log. Ensure that information documented on logs be communicated with incoming shift supervision.
Performing PMs of compressors, boilers, air compressors etc.
Evacuating ammonia in a closed loop systems. (Pump down)
Maintaining mechanical and electrical schematics and blue prints as they pertain to the plant ammonia system(s).
Evaluating and recommending equipment purchases to improve production operations.
Maintain preventative maintenance work to reduce the potential for plant downtime as related to cooler/refrigeration systems.
Coordinating efforts to source and procure parts, tools, and equipment with contractors and visitors.
Maintaining neat and orderly work area & properly maintaining tools.
Participation in TPM initiative.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
