What is Construction Recruiter Job Description ?

Recruiter who will oversee the hiring of all office and field positions.

The primary responsibility of the Recruiter is to drive the hiring process to ensure that open positions are filled as quickly as possible with the best talent possible. This position is critical in: helping the company establish a positive image in the community, building networks of candidates, and developing creative, cost-effective sourcing strategies. High-level of confidentiality required.

The duties of the Recruiter include the following; these duties may be modified and other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business:

Oversee placement of job postings (internal, job boards, newspapers, etc), resume collection and initial review. Conduct phone and/or preliminary interviews. Coordinate final interview schedules with appropriate managers.

Comply with all federal and state laws and company policies regarding recruitment and selection processes.

Communicate extensively with external recruiters; review fee agreements and terms with Director of HR.

Develop creating sourcing methods to expand visibility and network for potential candidates in a highly-competitive market and industry. Stay aware of cost-effective strategies that reduce dependency on external recruiters and minimize costs of placement fees.

Attend regular staffing meetings to stay abreast of current and future talent requirements.

Meet with Director of HR on a regular (at least weekly) basis to discuss hiring status, strategies and issues.

Ensure that all required paperwork is completed appropriately during interview process: applications for employment, Kolbe indexes and appropriate authorizations.

Assist with processing of Kolbe indexes. Conduct all reference checking.

Prepare necessary business correspondence, including letters to applicants. Follow-up with all candidates or recruiters on our hiring decisions.

Maintain extensive applicant tracking database and appropriate sections of company Intranet/Internet.

Maintain good relationships with area schools and coordinate on-campus presentations and interviews. Oversee the Internship Program throughout the company.




Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels.

Thorough knowledge of all relevant federal and state laws that govern recruitment and selection decisions (i.e., interviewing, reference checking, etc).

Experience with behavioral interviewing, selective questioning, and reference-checking techniques.

Thorough knowledge of job duties, required skills and competencies for each position in the company.

Strong time management, follow-through and organizational skills.

Good customer service skills. Presents positive and professional image of the company in the community.

Confidentiality ensured at all times.

Good business writing skills and verbal communication skills. Appropriate tact in communicating with candidates and recruiters.

Resolves problems or determines an appropriate course of action in a timely manner.

Ability to multi-task, handle large volumes of exempt and non-exempt openings quickly.

Good proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Comfortable with use of database management tools (Cosential).

Education and Experience Preferred:
2-4 years of relevant recruitment experienced required.
Experience in the construction industry strongly preferred.
Minimum of Associates degree required.
