What is Director of Land Development & Acquisition Job Description ?

Candidates must be deal oriented, have a good understanding of multifamily land acquisition (and potentially existing community acquisitions as well), from origination, to contracting through due diligence, wetland, EPA, utility, zoning, concept land planning and other permit related issues, and be able to identify prime apartment sites in the Southeast and take it from contract to closing. This individual should have or be able to obtain strong contacts in the real estate and brokerage community, as well as the real estate and banking community to be able to identify potential acquisitions and sites from a variety of sources (including both land deals as well as existing apartment projects at favorable prices).


Job Requirements:

Candidates should be degreed, and have a stable job history with knowledge of local, state and federal permitting processes, including heavy site construction processes and techniques, geotechnical engineering practices, land planning, civil engineering and architectural design processes, codes and regulations pertaining to land development and construction, skilled at negotiation.


Qualified candidates will likely reside in Charlotte, Raleigh or Tampa, but could reside in another area if he/she was willing to travel on a regular basis and has familiarity with these markets.
