Teamed ESS engineers and consultants - redesigned the mechanical unit, designed an electro/pneumatic control system, negotiated contracts, and standardized product. (Matrix managed 23 employees + 4 subcontractors); Interim Director of Engineering providing direction of document control, SolidWorks CAD, and AutoCAD drawing package to support contract.
Initiated Lean Manufacturing/Production and provided delivery of 2 units per week in 4 sizes, with shipping throughout the country; worked toward ISO certification.

Hired into role of Plant Manager (Project Manager) to attain a move in a timely manner. During September, 2004, Ionics fabrication facility (Bridgeville, PA) was flooded. In March, Ionics was acquired by GE and required to consolidate into their Canonsburg, PA assembly location and, relocate the water conditioning assembly operation to occur simultaneously to a site near Canonsburg, PA.
Responsible for moving 175,000 ft2 fabrication shop, 7,500 ft2 office, & 35,000 ft2 water cond. assembly group
Project management included all aspects of machinery relocation (foundation, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, control, etc.), design, layout CAD drawings & construction of offices (cubicles & walls thru HVAC, network thru phones), light manufacturing (water cylinder manufacturing thru activated carbon compounding process, machinery, and inventory), and design, layout, and management implemented under GE Six Sigma discipline and methodology.

Hired initially as a consultant to evaluate and manage Crowns IT and Engineering that were out sourced. Evaluation illustrated mishandling of both dBase and engineering over previous 3-year period. Wrote business plan (3 and 5 year) proposal to Crown and implemented to bring both IT and engineering internal. The basis of the business plan, was an internal only CCiSite link & oracle database real time feed with integration to customers in year 4. Initiated the Asset Management group and during the next 5 years, wore two hats:

Design project duration was 2-1/2 years with installation requiring physical plant modification from rebar thru heavy electric, and pneumatic / hydraulic thru control. Install took 9 months - 5 Westerners with a Russian workforce. At the end of the tenth month, production was 3 million panels per year. Davy price: $87 million (23% profit)
