Performed application software installation, Oracle database updating, and testing of software on three development and two production billing servers. Additionally, provided monitoring and production support of the production billing systems, which calculated and printed customer bills for the entire southwestern US. Following the acquisition of a company, expanded the generation and printing of customer bills by loading software packages such as Connect Direct, loading application software, and writing and executing ORACLE database scripts on seven new/additional development and two new/additional production billing servers. This also entailed coordinating installation and testing of the new servers. After being cut over into production, provided 24/7 monitoring and production support of the new production billing systems, which calculated and printed customer bills for the entire US. Held responsibility for the development, testing, and production support of a UNIX-based Automatic Bill Payment (ABP) system which allowed customers to pay their bills electronically by debiting from their financial institutions (credit card or savings/checking accounts) and depositing directly into company accounts. Documented business and system requirements, prepared time and cost estimates, and wrote design documents and test plans. Programmed in and maintained software in C language, UNIX Shell language, INFORMIX relational database 4gl, sql, esql-c, and ace report writer languages. Managed a project to consolidate and transition functions and processes for the ABP system following the merger of three companies, including planning, requirements definition, coding, testing, and functional verification. Implemented 137 new functions into the ABP system application software. Coordinated, planned, and performed three server migrations. Maintained a database of 2.2 million ABP system customers. Developed a corporate voice network database and performed customer support activities for multiple systems, including AUDIX (voice mail), private and public voice switching systems, and video teleconferencing systems; utilized UNIX, UNIX Shell language, and INFORMIX relational database sql/ace languages. Designed, developed, and tested advanced UNIX-based telecommunications product features; utilized C language, UNIX, UNIX Shell language, and INGRES relational database sql language.
