OBJECTIVE:

Seeking a position in an organization wherein I can contribute, utilize and enhance my experience and expertise in the construction/facilities/maitenance management.

Experience:

Primm Valley Resorts, MGM Property's at Stateline Jan 2004 3 property's dotted line to 5 other property's / Terribles april 2007 3 property's to 7-23-08. 31900 Las Vegas Boulevard South. Primm Nev. 89019
Director of Corporate Construction & Engineering.

Construction / renovations from idea threw budget, designer, architect, engineering, construction documents, bidding, timeline, administration of construction to opening.

Engineering / Maintenance responsible for upkeep of three property's including our own waste water plant & domestic water systems. I have built 5-10 year Capital outlays plans for HVAC systems, Paving & hotel renovation programs. I am reponsible for all construction, maintenance, outside grounds, ride maintenance & the golf corse maintenance. I have installed a work order system for scheduling employees to hold them accountable & for cordinating work with departments in advance of the work. I have bidded out blanket purchasing (BPO's) by trade to support for backlog work orders & small projects using multi properties for volume pricing. I have set up spread sheets for all projects for engineering, purchasing, acounting & all to have a guide in advance so they have no surprises as the project moves forward to completion. I have also have bidded out all materals for savings like light bulbs to filters for all property's to recieve discount pricing in volume & delivery's when needed to save warehousing & valuable space. I have rewired floor duct systems to recieve the new cable to upgrade all the slot machines & software. My renovations while I was here included two casino's, 600 room apartments & hotel rooms. I do not just write checks for venders or contractors. I put a lot of time in the gray area through a project so I remove all the questions that they guess at. When people have to guess they add monies to cover themselfs & a lot of time, there is a lot of assuming that total a lot of $ at the end of the day. I believe employees should be happy which equals productivey. I have set up training programs to let them grow to be the best they can be. I believe in training for the future from employee to management. I take pride in giving back all that I have learned over the years to improve the quality of employees & other departments. I promote working in the gray area between departments as I have found its usually some small thing that prevents them from being a team. I am a man with a lot of stories to tell to answer all the W's (when, why & what) so people know where they are going instead of they told me so.

No matter where I go I always find ways to improve. I am one of those kind of people that enjoy challenges & I never stop looking for them. As you read my resume you will find you probably don't have anything I haven't done or would scare me, but if there is, I will not guess I will find the correct answers. I believe in thinking down the road to make better decisions for tomorrow. My biggest new construction projects are a 600 unit employee housing project at a cost 21 million dollars & working hand & hand on a 35 million dollar 1,000 room hotel tower.

Grand Casino Avoyelles (Tribal Property)
Marksville, LA 71351
1994-2002

As Vice President of Facilities for this Tribal Property Casino Resort, I committed to the challenge of opening a tribal casino whose owners had minimum pre-existing casino management experience in an area that had a very poor economy. At this facility, my responsibilities have included training tribal members to understand and accept responsibility for departmental budgets, safety and guest services in the positions of Directors of Housekeeping, Director of Maintenance and Projects. During my tenure here, our Facilities Management Department has consistently held the highest scores of all the Grand Casinos.

I have assisted tribal members begin new businesses; supported the tribe in the construction of several projects, including a Burger King, an 18-hole golf course, and assisted with the start-up of a construction company owned by the tribe. Expansion of this facility, which included the construction and completion of a Kids Quest/arcade, restaurant & nightclub, warehouse/office area, uniform room, RV Park, two new parking lots, a 216 hotel room expansion, an event center and meeting rooms, and various in-house remodels which were all completed on time and under budget.
