QWEST Communications (formerly U S WEST)1980 - 2008 A Fortune 200 national telecommunications company with 35,000 employees providing the Spirit of Service to customers across the United States. IT / Network Recruiting Manager (2005- 2008) Staffing and recruiting responsibilities for IT and Network Operations organizations, supporting over 5500 employees across the US. Hired entry level technicians to Director. Administered compensation. Developed staffing plans, led team projects and implemented process improvements. Hired, promoted, or moved 311 individuals to new positions during first three quarters of 2008. Represents a 15% increase over total year 2007. Carried a weekly average of 130 open positions throughout 2008 working with over 100 hiring managers. Recognized repeatedly for creative solutions to staffing challenges and for excellent client service. Led team responsible for Qwest procedures to revised OFCCP Internet Applicant definition. Introduced changes to five key areas: job descriptions, candidate outcome codes, data limiting techniques, external search documentation and handling of unsolicited resumes.
