DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING, LTC: INOVA Health Systems, Fairfax, VAOctober 2006 present Oversight responsibility for all aspects of Engineering for the Continuum of Care, including Rehabilitation Centers, Assisted Living facilities, and long term care centers which are part of the INOVA Healthcare system; Management of seven individual facilities teams training, supervising, evaluating; Quality control/assurance to include policy and guideline setting, and service upgrades; Responsibility for oversight of outside contracts for biomedical, construction and renovation; Troubleshooting at various facilities.
CAPITAL OUTLAY ENGINEER: George Mason University, Fairfax, VA April 1998 September 2006 Lead project manager for several individual long-term facilities planning and maintenance projects, some estimated at $20+ Million, and several design projects for the University. Management Projects include cost estimating, bid processing, capital budgeting, coordination with A/E firms, and skilled trade/labor relations, organization and delegation of work, quality assurance and construction management from inception through completion within the institutional framework and within state standards.
QUALITY ASSURANCE SITE ENGINEER : Walter Reed Army Medical Center, DC April 97 -April 98 Responsible for quality assurance on site at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for a $10 million, 154,000 sq.ft. renovation project. Supervise subcontractors for upgrade to state of the art technology. Coordinate information distribution between contractors and client. Monitor scope of work; Oversee all aspects of quality control and assurance and report directly to client; Involved in master planning for the client including scheduling, cost estimating and achievement of specified goals within target time frame.
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER : Social Insurance Hospital, Riyadh Sept. 96 - April 97 Supervise all aspects of design, installation and maintenance of hospital systems, including HVAC units, plumbing, including pipe fitting and replacement, water and sewage treatment, electrical, telecommunications, fire and safety, vehicle maintenance and physical plant departments for both the hospital and housing compounds. Responsible for operation compliance with established standards based upon JCAHO hospital systems, ANSI and ASTM, management and oversight of staff, budget projections and calculations.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING :Sports Medicine Hospital, Riyadh Sept. 94 - Sept. 96 Supervised and coordinated a staff of ten engineers and supervisors to maintain hospital equipment and utilities within standard; redesigned hospital HVAC including system pumps, evaporators and piping; formulated and implemented work plans and department goals; conducted employee evaluation on behalf of Director of Engineering.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR, MEDICAL CENTER ENGINEERING : Sept. 93 - Sept. 94 Medical Center for the Royal Commission, Riyadh Served as Management Coordinator of all activities in assigned areas including Medical Supplies, Engineering, Operation and Maintenance departments; designed and supervised expansion of medical gasses piping network; conducted regular inspections to ensure system implementation according to specified policies and procedures.
HOSPITAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER: Prince Abdullah Hospital, Bisha Saudi Arabia July 92 - Sept. 93 Worked directly with the Ministry of Health to implement hospital maintenance and utility system and ensure preservation of such systems within established standards. Formulated budget projections and calculations.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER :Duraid Al-Yawer & Associates, London July 83 - July 92 Coordinated a team of engineers through each step of the design and installation process from process flow diagram, piping and instrumentation design, material selection based on corrosion testing, piping specifications, plant layout and design, piping configuration and support design, and stress calculation. Conducted installation through Giant Chart and PERT Network for Communication based upon American standards (ASME, ASTM and ANSI). Served as Management Coordinator.
