Oversaw the daily operations of all projects awarded to the company in the country of Egypt, providing direction and management that facilitated the completion of projects on-time and on-budget. Coordinated with consultants, management companies, outside vendors, and construction workers to achieve the highest levels of value engineering, securing all materials including FF&E from reliable competent sources in a timely manner.

  • Turned around struggling construction project for Amira Royal Resort in Ras Suder, attracting hotel operators to participate and share the success of this unique hotel. Managed the ID design and Procured the designed elegant FF&E through international sources.


 


  • Took over the engineering departments responsible for construction of a new passenger terminal at Sharm El Sheikh Airport in Egypt, moving it from 15% completed after 10 months of construction to 90% completed just 6 months later.


 

Client’s Representative, Cairo, Egypt (2001 – 2005)

 

Reviewed and approved plans and designed pre-cast elements for the façade of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project, constructed in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, playing a key role in the look of this iconic structure. Provided client with updates and best advice regarding the selection of materials, ensuring all design elements work together to create a memorable impression while keeping in mind the unique location in front of the Holy Mosque.

 

Highlights & Achievements:

 

  • Coordinated all departments and subcontractors assigned to complete the Precast façade elements on-schedule and on-budget, working with several international companies to ensure curtain walls, pre-cast, marble, and granite elements were properly ordered and installed.


 


  • Set up and supervised local engineering office to provide daily coordination between client, designer, and construction team of $1.2 billion B.O.T. project, consisting of a Mega Podium, 6 apartment towers, a 5-star hotel with extensive royal suites, and all facilities and services.


 

Technical Manager, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1997 – 2000)

 

Managed the technical aspects of construction of one of Riyadh’s most recognizable and celebrated building complexes, the Al Faisaliah Center. Consisting of a main office tower, a banquet hall able to accommodate up to 4000 people, a 5-star Khozama hotel, 100 apartment units, a retail shopping mall, and parking for more than 1,300 cars, this $320 million state-of-the-art project is currently the 2nd tallest building in Saudi Arabia.

  • Finished construction within the 3-year contracted period, despite several redesigns of the original plans that required work to stop for a period of time.
