Christopher McMahan is an architect for higher education, mission-driven organizations, and real estate developers with over twenty-five years experience. He is past Principal of Fletcher Thompson’s NYC office and serves FT clients in Providence, RI. His experience ranges from the planning, programming, and design of large-scale, mixed-used commercial development sites to numerous buildings for universities and religious and arts organizations. He has provided design leadership on multiple projects, including the Providence Courtyard by Marriott at Union Station, recipient of a Masonry Institute Award; LaSalle Academy Shea Science Building; Community College of Rhode Island’s Knight and Liston campuses; Village Apartments at Fairfield University; and master plans for Temple Emanu-El in Providence and the Marian Fathers in Stockbridge, MA. His restoration project for Rosedale Apartments, an Art Moderne complex on Narragansett Bay, received the 2007 RI Historic Preservation + Heritage Commission award.
