I have the progressive work experience as an architect in the international market. I started out my career as an associate architect with Group AID, an established architectural firm with considerable international experience to its credit. My dedicated work led me to be one of the youngest partner architect achieved in a relatively short period of ten years. At Group AID I was part of many teams that completed projects domestically and internationally. I also had the opportunity to lead some of those projects from conception to completion.
After ten years with the firm I made a decision to support my wife, an accomplished art teacher and critic, to take up a faculty position at an institution different away from our city of residence. The decision led me to resign from the firm and take up a position with Aga Khan University Hospital as a project architect. The experience gave me an opportunity to relinquish control and work as a team member to accomplish large scale project.
During my work at the University, I was presented with an opportunity to work in the United States which I cheerfully accepted. I have been working in Southern California for almost ten years now and have fully settled in. I am presently seeking to join a organization that offers opportunity for growth & advancement.
I have had the working experience of a large architectural firm in Irvine,CA-USA, working on Institutional and Multifamily residential projects. I was responsible, getting the drawings approved from the State Architects office and managing all aspects of projects in construction and closeout phases. This included attending construction meetings, reviewing field conditions and preparation of architects field reports; preparation of architectural supplemental instructions, reviewing and responding to RFIs, shop drawings, evaluating change order requests; coordinating project activities with contractors, user groups and facilities/planning departments; review of contractors project schedule, submittal schedules, review of contractors pay applications for accuracy and payment, and problem solving on-site issues.
In the past I also had worked for one of the leading architectural design firm Carter Burgess as a Job Captain in their Retail Division, Santa Ana CA. Office. At this firm, I had the experience of remodeling large retail outlets for Vons, multi-brand restaurants for Yum Brands Inc. and retail outlets for Cingular Wireless. My responsibilities included design (with color rendering in Photoshop), production, coordination and permit approval from cities.
