SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Secured corporate and community funding exceeding $75,000 for Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) outreach initiatives
Recognized at a 2004 White House event for the Department of Labor, Womens Bureau, for work serving girls
Created the first Community Engagement Summit in AACPS bringing together corporate, community, and non-profit partners. Over two hundred representatives from businesses, schools, churches, and the general community attended the event
Developed the African American Student Achievement via Community Engagement (SACE) program and the SACE Awards ceremony in partnership with the Anne Arundel County NAACP
Created the first Hispanic Education Forum in Anne Arundel County, attracting more than 1800 (Spanish-speaking) participants. Exceeded projected attendance of our targeted audience
Built a small business that received local, national and international recognition for its youth business summer camps and economic development programs. Articles appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines including the San Francisco Chronicle, San Diego Tribune, Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Black Enterprise, Kiplingers, and Minority Business Success magazine
Increased community partnerships by adding ninety-four new partners to support AACPS programs

Fundraising and Development
Provided direction, support, and leadership to secure external funding and build partnerships to support school district projects, successfully securing over $260,000 in monetary and in-kind donations AACPS Board of Education
Coordinated the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to local, regional and national foundations and corporations. Recently awarded $20,000 in grant funding from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), U. S. Department of Labor, and National Security Agency (NSA)
Secured over $49,000 in corporate and community in-kind contributions for the first Community Engagement Summit for Anne Arundel County Public Schools (2009)
Served on the funding committee for the annual Youth Explosion conference with Faith Chapel Church and San Diego Charger player Terrell Fletcher (1999 2003)
Awarded funds from the Junior SEAU Foundation for Creating Entrepreneur Opportunities (Camp CEO)

Womens Initiatives
Developed a partnership between the United States Department of Labor, Womens Bureau and the NCNW to promote girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers by providing workshops on college campuses
Mentored girls through the GEM SET University of Chicago Girls in Math, Science, Engineering and Technology online mentoring program - (2000 2007)
