Initiated feature-rich, reliable and cost-efficient products, restructuring operations to gain profitability. Microdyne Corporation (NASDAQ: MCDY) was $90 million a year diversified manufacturing, technology and services company selling into satellite communication market. L3 Communication acquired Microdyne in 1999. Developed and implemented strategic vision to reposition company as turnkey solution provider in satellite communication market. Augmented resulting 20% internal growth rate by entering homeland security market through purchase of companies with signal acquisition technology.
UNC INCORPORATED/PACIFIC AIRMOTIVE CORPORATION/UNC AVIATION SERVICES, Annapolis, Maryland, Assistant Treasurer, 1996-1997, Director of Internal Audit, 1988-1990 and 1993-1995, Vice President of Finance, 1990-1993. UNC Inc. (NYSE: UNC) was a $1.1 billion a year company providing aircraft engine overhaul, part manufacture and remanufacture, and government contract services. GE acquired UNC in 1997. Played role as key participant in restructuring company from conglomerate to leading provider of products and services to business aviation industry. Conducted significant due diligence work for purchases and sales of company subsidiaries, managing financial and operational start-up of acquired companies, as well as performing studies resulting in plant closures and work consolidations.
