Architecture Consultant - Legendary, Inc from September 2007 to July 2008. Mr. Froelich provided architectural design consulting to the developer of Emerald Grande on the HarborWalk retail project at the gateway to the Destin, Florida harbor.

Vice President, Design - The Cordish Companies from November 2003 to December 2007
Mr. Froelich directed the design of all Cordish projects. Mr. Froelich was directly involved in the creation of the Daytona Live! Project including hotel in the multi-use complex. This the full spectrum of responsibilities from developing and drawing initial master plans to reviewing and refining roofing details with outside consultants to selecting finishes or designing tenants signage packages. Mr. Froelich also selected primary and specialty design consultants for the firm.

Director of Architecture and Engineering- Universal Studios- Japan, Osaka: Responsible for the design and execution of all facilities at a $1.8B theme park in Osaka. All Facility Design Managers, Project Engineers, Lighting Designers, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers reported to Mr. Froelich. This is the only major theme park to ever open on-time and on-budget. It also holds the record for the shortest time to reach 10 million attendance.




Universal CityWalk, Los Angeles, Orlando, Osaka: Mr. Froelichs great reputation in entertainment architecture is most directly associated with the three completed Universal CityWalks. Mr. Froelich is the only person directly involved with the design of all three of these developments. He was the architect of record for CityWalk, Los Angeles and subsequently became Director of Architecture for CityWalk, Orlando and was the primary consultant to Sumitomo Real Estate in their development of CityWalk, Osaka.

Other Major Projects

Seminole Paradise- Ft Lauderdale, Florida: Mr. Froelich was responsible for the conceptual site planning and overall design direction for this retail/entertainment project attached to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The 350,000 sq ft development includes a 5600 seat Hard Rock Live.

Orlando Twin Towers Hotel- The Orlando Twin Towers hotel was a redevelopment project in suburban Orlando. Under Mr. Froelichs direction, the hotel exterior was completely redesigned with all balconies being encapsulated into a new skin allowing the addition of vertical fan coil units and a central plant cooling system for the property.

Red Sea Palace Hotel- Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This 266 room property was built using pre-manufactured units built in Mobile, Alabama and shipped to Jeddah completely furnished. Mr. Froelich was the Senior Designer on this 1980s project.

World Trade Center, Long Beach- A 28 story office complex in downtown Long Beach, California jointly developed by Kajima of Japan and IDM. Mr. Froelich served as the Project Manager and project architect for the executive architect, DMJM.


Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines- Mr. Froelich established the office of Skidmore Owings & Merrill in Manila in the process of designing the ADB Headquarters there. The project was 1.8 million square feet of office space and other facilities for the multicultural staff of this development bank owned by 45 member countries.

Huntington Center, Columbus, Ohio- Designed by Mr. Froelich from this multi-atrium 38 story high rise office building set the standard for high end quality office space in this state capitol city.

World Trade Center, Norfolk, Virginia- A unique curved office building takes advantage of its prominent site along the riverfront in this historic city.


One Magnificent Mile, Chicago- A unique multi use 57 story building anchoring the north end of Chicagos magnificent mile at Oak Street beach, One Magnificent Mile combines 20 levels of office space along with 35 levels of premier condominiums and ground floor retail space. The distinctive shape is elegantly expressed as crisp sculptured forms. The penthouse balconies create part of the buildings signature. Drawings of this building prepared by Mr. Froelich are now part of the permanent collection of architectural drawings in the Art Institute of Chicagos Burnham collection.


Patent- Mr. Froelich is also an inventor, holding U.S. Patent 5,340,111 for a tilting golf driving practice platform called the Terrainer.

Marathons, etc- Mr. Froelich has run or biked at least three times a week since 1995. He has entered and completed four 26.2 mile marathons with the latest being the 2003 New York Marathon. Most recently he completed the Horrible Hundred (100 miles) bike race in Clermont, Florida. He continues to run or bike daily.
