Mechanical Systems Cost Estimator: (2001-02/2010) Costing, planning and managing (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Civil) projects using estimating tools, formats and pricing data. Preparation of estimates, analysis of change order reviews and value engineering options. Develop estimates from narratives, drawings and specifications, provided by architects, from concept stage to contract documents. Projects include medical facilities, colleges and universities, government /municipal and commercial buildings valued to $25 million. Work within a team including electrical and architectural disciplines. Continuous communication with product vendors, architectural and design engineers to define scopes, changes and cost impacts while assuring accuracy in pricing. Product resources include R.S. Means, Timberline, ENR, construction publications and on-line sources to monitor, review and update market cost fluctuations. Project Manager/Facilities Engineer: Provide support for a 3 million sq. ft manufacturing/
professional office facility employing 2500; support also includes remote facilities located in AL, GA and CA. Total project management responsibilities valued to $1 million relating to general office design, lab & manufacturing equipment layouts as well as new and modified building construction. Duties include full life-cycle project management, AUTO CAD design, cost estimating using R.S. Means construction aids, project planning/scheduling using Microsoft Project, Office, and Excel, bid evaluation and awarding of contracts as well as monitoring, controlling and approving all expenditures. Additional responsibilities include the supervision of Facilities design personnel, construction coordinators, outside architects, engineers, consultants and contractors to assure compliance with local, state and federal building code requirements. Major project management achievements include the completion of 40 office renovation projects to 25,000 sq. ft., 50 projects related to new and modified manufacturing processes, 25 projects supporting the construction/renovation of mechanical, chemical and electrical testing laboratories..

Project Engineer: (1984-1986) Development of capital engineering projects in the food processing industry. Analysis and design of process equipment and systems including process piping, pumping, dust collection, building repairs and renovations, material handling, conveying systems and HVAC. Responsible for coordination, scheduling and supervision of in-house crafts and outside vendors. Also responsible for soliciting, evaluating and awarding construction contracts, purchasing of equipment and materials, estimating and project cost control.

Senior Design Draftsman: (1978 1984) Design and drawing of process piping systems, environmental control equipment, process flow diagrams, electrical schematics, building layouts, machinery and parts layouts.

Design Draftsman: Design and generation of working drawings for a consulting engineer in the aluminum smelting industry. Layouts of furnaces, natural gas trains, burner systems, ingot mold conveyors and ventilation systems.
