Name : JOHN BLAYLOCK
Industry Type : Specialty Contractors
City & State : ATLANTA, GA.
Job Title PAINT CONTRACTOR
Relocation Preferences : no
Objective :

"Finally, a painter I can trust with my clients."
We feel confident that, after working with, JOHN BLAYLOCK you will feel this way. Its your reputation on the line and our respect for this concept is reassuring.

With a history on high end projects, I've worked with home remodelers and designers, helping them realize their vision with a work ethic that exceeds their expectations. They appreciate the differences I bring to the project:

Craftsmanship Honed after years of experience (beginning with est. 5 to 6 years apprenticeship), craftsmanship is the first difference. After years of working on high end projects, my skill set offers a range of techniques including distressed stain finishes, producing interior paint finishes to the highest level, drywall repair and texture design.

Preparation I've learned what most painters should know but don't practice -- the best finish starts with sanding...and usually lots of it.

Professionalism Clients have to live on the property while I'm there. It's about respect for property and a respect for the craft. From taping off the floor to cordoning off a room, I make sure I leave the property as clean -- if not cleaner -- than I found it. An airtight room makes the rest of the house livable while working.

Listening Partnering with you on achieving client wishes is another craft. When communication lines are open, I can help you realize your vision, and add value and options to your decisions.

Ownership Youll find me on site, with a brush in hand. Our philosophy is to take ownership of the work by having me, the owner, on site a refreshing difference from others who send out crews.

If your experience previously with painters included splatters, brush marks and a mess, you'll see a difference in Elite.

I've been working on fine homes most of my time in the business I realize that clients expect quality craftsmanship with professional working techniques based on the price of the project. Painting requires a great amount of skill, patience, and attention to detail that can only be learned through experience. My personal paint experience also included: working on inter-coastal homes in Boca Raton, Florida and also high-rise oceanfront condos overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida which involved painting top floor penthouses with spacious floor plans. In Atlanta, my work today at times included painting projects with kitchen and bath designers, interior decorators, and home remodeling renovation companies. My work in the past also included painting projects on plantation homes in Buckhead and prestige homes in country club subdivisions.
LATE 1980's to EARLY 1990's: I ended my apprenticeship in Dallas, Texas and started painting inner coastal homes in Boca Raton, Florida. Many of these properties had grand stairways, indoor pools, and their own personal yachts. Experience and craftsmanship were a must on these high-end jobs. In the process, as the work on the top floor condos were being completed future projects revolved around the condo associationworking on faux designs in the entry foyer area where the elevator opens into the top floor entrance.
EARLY 1980'S TO MID 1980'S
I worked in Dallas, Texas for Kruaise Painting, I started at the bottom and worked my way up which takes time at any trade to develop proper skills in painting and drywall refinish. During this time, I learned the trade on how to sand wood cabinets, doors, and trim as well as the proper cleaning and preparation of these surfaces for the application of the finish paint coat. I also learned about drywall refinishing, as well as stripping of old stain cabinetry for refinishing. Becoming a good apprentice for this company helped me advance in my career, which led to my becoming a foreman for Phillips Decorating, a well-known company based out of Dallas, TX. Phillips did work for decorators and home remodeling companies on a high-end scale in the district area of Highland Park. I also worked in painting hospitals, and overseeing renovation jobs of a Salvation Army building, which included painting, drywall refinish, and superintendent work.
