SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Secured revenue stream. Delay of key client projects threatened the third/fourth quarter planned revenue for Cambridge. Built relationships with key industry contacts, gaining leads for nationwide projects. Developed sales/marketing strategies, securing ten projects and exceeding projected profit margins.
Ensured project deadline was met. Challenged to get Cambridges Pensacola construction project back on track. Evaluated previous waste facilities nationally, determining erroneous fire rating classifications as issue. Collaborated with city officials, reviewing classifications for similar facilities. Corrected and saved client $120K in costs to fulfill extra fire requirements for building.
Resolved high labor costs. Tasked to control union workers labor costs when customers delayed projects for Procon Pumping. Restructured scheduling and wage requirements, gaining approval with crew on flexible employee schedules. Revised structure, improving employee morale and customer satisfaction.
Rescued project profitability. Internal estimator at Cambridge bid a New York project too tight, projecting a loss in revenue. Analyzed scope of project, identifying areas to recapture income. Collaborated with client and secured additional $100K in maintenance contracts, saving the bottom-line and future contracts.
CAREER HISTORY
Director of Construction, Cambridge Companies, 2002 to 2009. Promoted from Project Manager to oversee all national waste industry projects for this $25M commercial construction firm. Directed design and site consulting, business development, sales, bidding, contract negotiations, $7M budget, QA, compliance, and permits. Maintained highest gross profit on projects within organization. Managed team of nine.
General Manager, Procon Pumping, 1996 to 2002. Started up this concrete placement and provider of bulk transportation services business. Managed all operations, sales, marketing, union and non-union personnel, training, EH&S, and controlled costs to ensure profitability. Directed $1.2M budget and staff of six.
Earlier: Regional Manager, Highland Department Stores. Promoted to levels of increasing responsibility to direct overall operations for this $5M retail store. Managed sales, $400K advertising budget, purchasing, pricing, training, $5M budget and 120 employees. Negotiated leases/employee benefits and assured company policies were met.
