Presently under construction in Shanghai is the restoration and renovation of a protected (historical) 1930 residential complex that will be converted into high end villas for sale, serviced apartments and retail areas in the prestigious French Concession. Additional projects undergoing investigation are a Grade 1 historic renovation on The Bund, and other mixed use complexes. Incheon Korea: Initial involvement start up for design, feasibility and development of a 1500 acre mixed use new town with the centerpiece being a 151 story tower complex. This is a USD 20 billion 16 year project. ARUBA SANDS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 2005 to 2006 :Palm Beach, Aruba Consultant Project Executive Acting as the owners primary consultant between the architectural/engineering design teams and construction professionals for The Sands - a 124 apartment luxury condominium residence located on the most exclusive and magnificent beachfront property in Aruba, Eagle Beach, documentation was produced to reflect a one off complex designed to be appreciated by those with highly discerning tastes and distinctive, sophisticated lifestyles. Plans were completed and permitted however the project has run into funding difficulties and is on hold
MARRIOTT VACATION CLUB INTERNATIONAL 2001 to 2005 :Palm Beach, Aruba Project Director
Project Director of the newest and most prestigious timeshare complex on Aruba. This 450 2/3 bedroom villa complex consists of four 14 story post tensioned concrete structures, covered with a structurally engineered EFIS system. With a planned investment of approximately $250M, accelerated sales have advanced the planned completion date from 2012 to 2007. As Project Director, simultaneously managed, with very limited staff, one building opening July 2004, six months ahead of the original schedule date, one building starting September 2003, and the remaining 2 structures starting construction in April 2005. Working with an off island contractor selected through an arduous RFP process, handled all logistics, local politics and completed ahead of schedule. Through examining the various design components, directed savings of over $1.2 million, and through various negotiations with the Aruba government and contractors an additional $2 million.
BOVIS INTERNATIONAL LTD. 1994 to 2001 Kuwait City, Kuwait Project Executive
In joint venture with local project management specialist PROJACS, held role of Project Executive leading a team of Project/Construction Management specialists (20-50 staff) to manage the design, construction start up and financial aspects of the world headquarters for the Kuwait Ministry of Oil and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. This prestigious project, designed by world renowned architect Arthur Erickson is built on mostly reclaimed land overlooking Kuwait Bay and is comprised of two, interconnected, architecturally bold and innovative towers; 24 and 19 stories, with 64,000 sm. of interior space. This landmark edifice features a tensile fabric roof over the expandable parking structure plus numerous support areas including an auditorium, training centre, bank, state of the art communications center, library, pier, mosque etc. With the highest level of local and imported finishes the project is presently estimated at + $135,000,000 USD.
Moscow, Russia Operations Director
Operations Director of Bovis Russia Construction Support and Operations Management staff (app. 60) representing the Client's interests (development, design, construction, and financial) in western style, new commercial developments, major renovations in the center of Moscows Historical District, infrastructure and processing plants for major multi-national companies in other areas of Russia and feasibility studies for financial institutions and multi-nationals. Shell and core office construction alone represented over $100 million and were managed and constructed utilizing "western" management techniques. Additional duties included marketing, project cost presentations, developing preliminary scheduling proposals and value engineering analysis.
Walt Disney World Co. 1989 to 1994 Orlando, Florida Group Manager
Group Manager leading a senior management team having development, fiscal and oversight responsibilities for multiple new and refurbishment programs valued at over 35 Million dollars per year. Directly interfaced with Senior Operations Executives. Personally responsible to manage the development, financial considerations, design, and construction of a new Central Laundry and infrastructure services capable of processing 93 million pounds of linen per year ($35 million). Developed and managed, among others, the expansion at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Banquet facility, Polynesian Resort services replacements, Caribbean Beach Hotel transportation portico, and Guest Room renovations at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Disney Inn, and Disney's Polynesian Resort. All properties remained open during construction operations.
