Grove City, OH

Description of Project:
212,000 sf distribution center constructed as a spec building investment by Kansas City Life Insurance Co. Project consisted of conventional structural steel, joists and roof deck, with load bearing precast concrete wall panels and a rubberized insulated roof system.

Quaker Oats, subsidiary of PepsiCo.
Cedar Rapids, IA

Description of Project:
330,000 sf addition to existing distribution center. Project consisted of three separate phases, so as to keep the existing business in operation. Structure was a pre-engineered metal building (Butler) with precast concrete wall panels and a pre-engineered standing-seam insulated roof system. Florescent lighting, gas fired forced air heating and 10,000 sf of climate controlled area maintaining a temperature of 45F.

Whirlpool Corporation Orlando Distribution Center.
Orlando, FL.

Description of Project:
500,000 sf building and 10,000 sf offices. Project consisted of conventional structural steel, joists and roof deck with tilt-up concrete load bearing wall panels and insulated Sarnafil roof membrane. Building included an inside railway bay for under-roof access to railroad cars. High bay MH lighting, gas fired heating units and wall mounted exhaust fans for air changes.

Description of Project:
30,000 sf addition to existing building. Project consisted of pre-engineered metal building (Butler) with prefinished steel insulated wall panels and a standing-seam insulated roof. One portion of the building was designed to carry a 30T top running crane with the crane brackets supported by the building columns. Florescent lighting, gas fired unit heaters.





Wendys New Bakery
Zanesville, OH
Description of Project:
120,000 sf new building, 8000 sf offices and a 20,000 sf freezer building. Project consisted of a pre-engineered metal building structural system with precast concrete wall panels and insulated prefinished roof panels. In addition to the building, held responsibility for the erection of storage silos and all machinery for the automated production of 90 dozen buns per minute, from flour storage silo to the freezer (held at -10F).

Tulsa, OK
Description of Project:
300,000 sf addition to an existing manufacturing facility. Project consisted of conventional structural steel, joist and roof deck with tilt-up concrete load bearing panels and an insulated Sarnafil roof membrane. During construction, kept the existing facility in production, coordinating efforts with the Plant Manager.

Smith Dairy
Orville, OH
Description of Project:
45,000 sf addition to an existing processing facility. Project consisted of conventional structural steel, joists and roof deck with prefinished insulated wall panels and a rubberized roofing system. Entire building was refrigerated to maintain a temperature of 35F. Again, during construction, kept the existing facility in operation, coordinating efforts with the Plant Manager.

Valparaiso, IN
Description of Project:
120,000 sf building for manufacture of corrugated cardboard and boxes and 6000 sf of offices. Project consisted of a pre-engineered metal building (Butler) with part concrete and part prefinished steel insulated wall panels and a standing seam insulated roof system. Coordinated the building effort with the installation of the Owner supplied machinery from Germany. This project had an outside (roof covered only) railroad spur.

Mills Pride
Sayre, PA
Description of Project:
330,000 sf of buildings for the manufacture of kitchen cabinets and other KD furniture. Project included an 8,000 sf boiler building and a set of 8 kiln buildings for treating wood, an automated paint line which needed to be segregated from the rest of the production facility.




Responsibilities on the above Projects:
Site Manager. From ground breaking until project completion.
Performed constructability review of the construction drawings.
Established and monitored the project schedule utilizing MS Project.
Worked with Project Chief to obtain city building permits and Fire Department approvals.
Upon construction commencement was instrumental in all communications with the City/County/State Building Department, the City Development Director and the City/County/State Fire Marshall.
Prepared sequencing diagrams with time frames for each phase of the work.
Prepared and updated Production Charts for each phase of work.
Interviewed and selected subcontractor bids.
Held pre-activity meetings with subcontractors.
Scheduled and coordinated all work by subcontractors.
Performed daily inspection for site safety and of work being performed.
Prepared Daily Logs and updated the schedule.
Scheduled, coordinated and monitored all building department and fire department inspections.
Coordinated all subcontractor Change Order requests, and provided all backup to Project Chief for approval and further administrative processing.

Initially I was the Director of Field Operations for this Design-Build Company and worked my way up to being appointed as President.
Responsibilities included:
Monitoring a sales staff
Preparing proposals for an assortment of commercial and industrial buildings
Coordinated efforts of the sales, purchasing and engineering departments for project buyouts.
Prepared building permit drawings and specifications
Assisted Owners in Zoning and Plan Approval processes
Reviewed with Project Managers the progress of the work, maintaining construction schedules and budgets.

Diamond Buildings Company
The company was a manufacturer of pre-engineered metal building components.
Responsibilities included:
Heading up the engineering department designing the different components (girts, purlins, rigid frames and tapered beams, columns, etc) making up the entire building box, also including in certain cases, top running and/or under-slung crane systems.
Supervised creation of shop drawings for the plant
Communicated with Clients Architects/Engineers to better understand their needs and requirements, making suggestions for designing a package best suited for their respective needs.

Harza Engineering Company
Retained fresh upon graduation from the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL.
Worked with a staff of engineers on the Mangla Dam project in Pakistan, analyzing the slope stability of the earthen dam, making comparisons of different heights and slopes.
Also worked on the inspection of the bridges across the Des Plaines River in Joliet, IL, for any deterioration, and assisted in reports to senior management.
