Responsibilities include: preparation of business plans and budgets with Business Development team; commercial feasibility studies; risk assessment; supervision of all concept and detailed design activities including master planning, infrastructure, building and landscape design; determination of product type and mix; logistic and construction phasing planning; consultant and contractor negotiations; tender analysis; development of time/cost/quality monitoring systems. As Vice President of the Property Division, John reported to Walid Al Hashimi, CEO. Oversaw design, development, and project team for hospitality, retail, commercial and residential projects. 25 Mega-Projects totaling 180 Billion AED on such as in Joint Venture with Oman Government. Responsibilities included geographic expansion analysis; brand development and oversight; coordination and analysis of market studies; financial and commercial modeling; property valuation; hotel operating negotiations; management of third-party relationships; land use analysis and planning; product type and mix analysis; design coordination and management of 100+ international consultants; supervision of RFP process; detailed design; cost analysis and value engineering; LEED design implementation; tender analysis. Responsibilities included operations and financial management; site feasibility studies; design supervision; construction administration; RFP process; coordination of consultants; sales and marketing. As Executive Director, John reported to Alice Edland, Senior Vice President and Herbert Kohler, Founder and CEO. Managed an organization supported by a core team of 120 personnel in 9 divisions including design, development, construction, facilities and asset and several million sq ft of buildings.
