Led the conceptualization and design development of Starbucks new store models from interior kiosks to freestanding buildings.
Developed multiple concepts for future high volume kiosks.

Led the design team responsible for establishing and creating Starbucks store design standards the look and feel of Starbucks stores - from conceptualization, design development, pilot store prototyping, CAD tool development, construction document prototype creation, training, and roll-out.
Developed and launched a new store design and construction methodology through a Modular Store System; new look and feel with three distinct Store Palettes; new interior Modular Kiosk with interchangeable components; and a freestanding Single Tenant Building with multiple configurations, building systems and skins.

SENIOR DESIGN & BRAND MANAGER (1999 - 2002)
Oversaw the design process, standards, and brand management of the Store Development Design Teams (for new stores and renovations of existing stores) consisting of over 100 individuals. Provided direction and responded to challenges from internal and external business leaders.
Integrated real estate, construction, and operations input into design solutions.
Led the conceptualization, design development, pilot store prototyping, CAD tool development, construction document prototype, training, and launch of a low cost store model the Ristretto that reduced construction costs and schedule while creating a distinct coffeehouse experience. Over 200 stores in current Starbucks portfolio had a cost savings ranging from $30K to $100K per store at time of construction.

Provided design education to the Zone Retail Leadership Teams and built a partnership in order to create optimal renovation plans for each individual store.
Ensured brand adherence, operational efficiencies, and facilities budgets were met for each of approximately 200 stores through newly established Renovation Process.

SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER (1997 - 1998)
Oversaw the Store Design and Construction Documentation of all domestic and international stores.
Directly responsible for leadership of five Regional Design Managers and their respective teams of over 60 in-house designers and for the development of over 400 new stores per year, the renovation of over 250 stores per year, and for maintenance of a $3 million operating budget.
Created and delivered design process presentations and training to fellow Store Development (Real Estate, Design, Construction) partners and other departments (Operations, Marketing, Product Development) in order to clarify roles and responsibilities and streamline the development process.

REGIONAL DESIGN MANAGER (1994 - 1997) Led and managed in-house Store Design Teams for the Southwest region later taking charge of the Northeast and Midwest regions.

RHODES & GARRETT ARCHITECTS: DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGER, LONG BEACH, CA
In charge of design for a range of architectural work from site planning to building design. Directed construction administration of several tenant improvement projects.

In charge of conceptual design for architectural and interior projects, generation of design models and presentation boards, as well as delegating work for construction documents.

WESTSIDE SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES (2007 TO PRESENT)

FARESTART: DESIGNER, SEATTLE, WA (2006 2007)
