Projects Include: Frederick News Post, Frederick, Maryland, Office space and Commercial Newspaper Printing Facility. 144,000 square feet of commercial office space and industrial manufacturing space, this steel and brick construction project required extensive scheduling for the massive Japanese printing press that had a very strict delivery date. The construction was staged in order to provide a conditioned space in which to construct the 4 story press on top of a massive concrete table top while maintaining very precise temperature and humidity requirements. Coris role was to manage the land use attorney, architect and civil engineer to gain proper permits and biddable construction documents. The project was broken up with regard to the permits gained and the site work was bid under a separate contract as well as sink hole preventative ground improvements. Cori bid the work and awarded and subsequently managed the site work simultaneously while working to gain the building permit and bidding the remainder of the construction project to gain a general contractor. During this time there was also tremendous coordination between the architect and MEP engineer with the owners equipment vendors, of which there were over 50 involved with the equipment portion of the project. Cori, as the owners representative, managed them on behalf of the owner and coordinated their equipment electrical, water and compressed air needs with the MEP engineers. The furniture audit and reuse plan, the procurement of new furniture, coordination of the systems furniture electrical plan and move coordination and subsequent move were all managed by Cori as well. The project was completed within budget and 1 month ahead of schedule.
LEED Educational Seminars and Classroom Series Cori developed a series of lectures that evolved into LEED technical training seminars. Because of Coris construction background, many colleagues requested her assistance with regard to properly estimating the cost and schedule impacts of the LEED process. Cori developed two separate class options for companies searching for assistance to get their employees prepared to successfully pass the LEED exam. The classes include LEED for Commercial Interiors v 2.0 and LEED for New Construction v. 2.2. Most classes include 20+ students and Attune offers a web based practice exam after the completion of an 8 class seminar. 2007 PresentFrederick County Community College Adjunct Professor Cori prepared a college level class for the construction management department for students to learn Methods and Materials and Fundamentals of Building Construction.
