Dear Sir,
I am very interested in a maintenance supervisor / management position. I have just retired from Bridgestone / Firestone in May after almost 37 years in maintenance management with job titles ranging from craftsman emergency break down floor supervisor, supervisor of planning and scheduling, plant shutdown coordinator, plant SAP work order development coordinator, to the maintenance manager of the Decatur, Illinois plant with approximately 200 floor craftsman, supervisors, and planners in our group for a plant size of 2000 employees.
I have a vocational degree in electronics but my floor supervising and planning duties has taught me hands-on training in all areas of maintenance from electrical-mechanical to plant facilities including the power house which I was the relief supervisor at the LaVergne, Tennessee plant. I do not have a HVAC certification but I am willing to get one if needed for my new position. With most of my positions I have had budgets which I was responsible for staying with-in and at the same time showing improvements with-in my areas of responsibility. I am very familiar with the SAP program in case your company uses this program format which is not real user friendly but it does have a lot of different features that can be developed over a period of time. In both plants I worked I was instrumental in sitting up their on-line work order call system and making constant improvements to track and reduce downtime and frequency calls.
My qualifications I am sure would meet your facility / companys needs and feel I could be a real asset in heading up your maintenance team with my endless energy and organizational skills. I come from a company that believes in constant improvement is the only way to be successful and drive down operating cost through small to medium sized improvement projects that reduce down time repair cost with new technology and change of habit using better repair procedures and guide lines.
To keep myself active I have taken a job at Lowes working in their plumbing department but I am anxious to get back to a new and more challenging position in my field of maintenance. I am a self motivated and dedicated individual to my employer and as I stated on my resume I had perfect attendance in my 37 years with Bridgestone and was always on call with all of my job positions. I would appreciate very much the chance to interview for your job and further expand on my qualifications thanks you for your time and consideration,

Sincerely,

Jerry Davis

Dear Sir/Dear Madam:

Due to the economic condition of the country and the down sizing of Bridgestone plant in LaVergne I took an early retirement package to open new opportunities outside the rubber industry. My hope is I have left the LaVergne plant on firmer ground with the contributions I have made to their facility. I have always been a loyal, trustworthy, and knowledgably employee that could be counted on in any situation no matter what time or day it might be. I have shown that I can always be counted on through my dedication, self motivation, and attendance my perfect attendance for almost 37 years is not something just everybody can claim. I have a proven track record as my performance reviews indicate my last performance review was evaluated as outstanding the highest rank in our companies management evaluation system.
My management background shows I can handle any situation with any group or number of trades or individuals. I have dealt with union and non-union employees without any difficulties in getting the job done by using cost effective work plans and procedures I have written myself to get the job done safely and reliably. I have worked through enormous conflicts between union and non-union teammates due to a long strike in the Decatur plant in 1994-95. Preventative maintenance is the backbone of a maintenance organization and that is where the majority of my career lies. I have been the key player in setting up access based and SAP work order systems in both the Decatur and the LaVergne plants. Both plants depended on me solely to coordinate and lead them in their plant shutdowns when all major planned jobs were scheduled by reviewing work plans and scheduling the work on a daily schedule and then to coordinate and lead all shutdown meetings between the plant management.
I believe my working knowledge of facility maintenance, machinery, mixing, pipefitting, and conveying transmission equipment both mechanical and electrical could help your facility greatly through reduced downtime and breakdown frequency cost savings.

Sincerely and Respectively,

Jerry Davis
