CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Senior project manager for design and construction or major renovation of six major mid-rise and high-rise buildings over the past ten years, with budgets between $16 million and $37 million. Five included new parking garages of post-tensioned concrete, pre-cast concrete or steel-framed construction.

Implemented project management software company-wide at one employer while simultaneously performing project management duties. System included provisions for cost control and reporting, subcontract preparation and change order management.

Prepared four proposals for major waste transfer stations for Hong Kong government, each in the range of $150-200 million in capital and operating costs, two of which were awarded to the firm. One successful proposal included construction underground in solid rock, multiple high-density compaction stations, and ocean-going barge transfer across Hong Kong Harbor.

Managed the facilities department for the worlds second largest waste management firm, directing architects, engineers and project managers in the development, design and construction of hundreds of facilities, including trucking centers, waste transfer stations, recycleries, landfills and special waste processing complexes.

Managed design and construction of the worlds largest hazardous waste landfill in eastern Colorado, with storm control systems capable of handling a 10,000 year storm event and with thousands of square yards of roads and pavements in roller-compacted concrete.

Developed an innovative use of flowable fill to construct deep footings in areas of rubble fill. This process at one downtown Houston project helped avoid many weeks of excavation and backfill and became a major marketing triumph for the employer.

Managed utility systems, including power generation capacity, for Navy base in Hawaii. Coordinated major power and other utility grid changes for up-town development in Austin. Worked with power companies throughout the United States in providing for high voltage electric services to hotels, condominiums, office buildings and industrial plants. Advocated and implemented an energy management program for world-wide waste company. Spearheaded Austin apartment high-rise construction to meet Green Building and LEEDS certification requirements.

As a young Navy lieutenant, led a detachment of 44 SeaBees to Adak, Alaska, building ten communications antennas in some of the most hostile weather and soil conditions on earth.

Licensed as a professional engineer in six states. Currently studying for certification with PMI as a Project Management Professional.
