I am writing in response to your ad for a Chief Electrical Estimator. I have a lot to offer your firm, including 35 years of experience starting in the field as an Apprentice on residential to commercial all over the states of New York and Florida, then moving into industrial marine electrical. I have been in the electrical estimating field approximately 15 years (combined over time). Within that time span, I have been involved in the design/build of many projects including drawing and submission of plans, designing lighting and electrical distribution. I have excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. I am able to communicate effectively with owners, GCs, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, project managers, supervisor, and superintendents. I apply common sense along with the many Tricks of the Trade I have learned over the years in solving problems. I possess a very strong ambition to succeed. I think big picture and take into account long-term implications. I do an accurate material take-off and possess very strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments. I am as detailed in my work as in everyday life. I am willing to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances. As an able Electrician, I always make myself available to the workforce in the field during all phases of a project to help get over any hurdles that may arise during the duration of the project.

Duties Include;
Coordinate all estimating services projects and contracts. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, reviewed scope of work, and supervise assistant estimators. Provide complete conceptual and final estimates on all projects. Provide technical support to personnel preparing estimates for assigned projects. Maintain all documents to back-up all estimate figures. Ensure pricing of materials and subcontracts are completed in a timely and accurately manner on all projects. Act as company liaison between project Architect, Engineer and owner all projects. Prepare and distribute computer generated reports as required.

COMPUTER SKILLS
All Windows versions including Vista, Office Suite 2000/7, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Front Page and Publisher. Web design and maintenance, AutoCAD & Auto Sketch, I have worked with many of the top estimating programs in the past. I originally learned computer estimating in 1983 on a system called Contractor One; it was the top-dog of the day! I have had limited access to, McCormicks, Accubid, ConEst & On-Center Software, in certain circumstances I use an Excel spreadsheet I write myself. I have found Quantum XP Pro by Electrical Resources to be the most user friendly. I have the ability to learn and work with any software necessary to make the process easier.
OTHER:
I have the capability of working from my home office when necessary. I am supportive of the team environment. As a department manager, I never expected any one of my team to do anything I was not prepared to do myself. I stressed the necessity of working together.
