Job Description:
National construction management firm seeks CFO/Controller to oversee the finance and accounting functions and personnel for the Boston region.
Position reports to the president and all applications will be given the highest level of confidentiality. We can also relocate from anywhere in the USA.
Responsibilities:
Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including multiple bank reconciliations
Assist with banking and other financial and insurance matters.
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining schedules, records, and reconciled accounts
Fixed asset accounting and maintenance
Analyze and report on cash, production, and labor activities
Prepare and maintain cash flow projections
Ensure accurate cost reporting and allocation of labor, material, and overhead
Conduct internal audits to assess the financial status
Assist in Mergers & Acquisitions diligence as necessary
Assist with outside audit requests
Qualifications:
Previous experience as CFO, Chief Accountant, or Controller for a general contractor or construction management firm.
Previous experience in construction material production or construction industries
Previous management experience with a team of direct reports
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP; strong experience with construction (percentage-of-completion) project accounting
Experienced in all areas of accounting - AP, AR, GL, PR, and job costing.
Direct managerial responsibility running the AP and AR functions preferred
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
Experience with large construction software
Requires working knowledge of lien process - NOC's, NTO's, lien releases
Self-starter; comfortable with directing one's own work
Strong work ethic, pride in ones work, and whatever it takes mentality
Deadline and detail-oriented
