What is a good construction controller job description?

A well-respected, fast-paced construction firm seeks a fulltime “hands-on “Controller to be responsible for all financial aspects of the operation. Reporting to the President/CEO, the Controller executes financial management in the following areas:

Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Job Costing, Scheduled Reporting, Tax Filings, Payroll, Benefits, Human Resources, Annual Audits, and Internal Controls. The Controller supports the President by developing scheduled financial reports and analyses that accurately illustrate the financial health of the construction projects and the corporation. In addition, the Controller oversees the accounting support team and works in cooperation with
the office manager to manage the administrative staff and the IT management services team.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- 10-20 years of accounting experience as a Controller within the construction industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- AIA billing experience
- Cost to complete experience
- Meet with Project Managers to review job status and performance against budget
- Knowledge of Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore or comparable industry accounting
software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent managerial and communication skills
