REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will manage directly a Vice President, Interiors Division, Director Business Development, Director of Operations and a Director of Estimating & Preconstruction and through these subordinates will manage 45 professionals.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for directing, administering and coordinating the activities of the region in accordance with the policies, goals, and objectives established with senior management of the corporation. This responsibility includes the functions of project management, estimating/value engineering, business development and administrative functions, as well as full profit and loss responsibility for the region.
Specific Responsibilities
1.Formulates and implements long- and short-range strategic / business plans, policies and programs within the framework of corporate policy with direct involvement in identifying strategic partners for select opportunities with the ability to engage in and support acquisition evaluations, and, under the direction of senior management, to achieve approved objectives.
2.Directs and generally supervises the day-to-day activities of the region, including, but not limited to, the business development and operational aspects of the enterprise with the objective of maximizing profitability and growth.
3.Embodies the Companys core values, communicates the Company mission and motivates staff to make these a reality with Client Service always the top priority.
4.Establishes criteria to measure short- and long-term income/earnings and overall growth, and regularly evaluates results against these performance standards to ensure profitable growth and service.
5.Develops and maintains an effective business development program, securing profitable work on a routine basis through the elevation of relationships at the highest corporate levels of existing and new clients.
6.Takes a primary role in initiating and maintaining liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to facilitate positive relationships and communications.
7.Maintains an awareness of, and exercises judgment in, such areas as market conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions and governmental, legislative and regulatory matters.
8.Directs the development and maintenance of long-range operational forecasts regarding volume, market share, financial requirements, human resources needs, organization plans, etc., and monitors the projected effects of these forecasts on the regions investments and earnings.
9.Utilizing community involvement as appropriate for business development, networking and creating goodwill for the organization in the local market.
10.Responsible to drive recruiting of the most qualified professional staff to service client needs and grow the business in strategic sectors including Corporate Interiors, Mission Critical, Retail, Hospitality, Education and Federal Government.
11.Insure retention of staff through career development, training and mentoring in line with corporate initiatives supporting these activities.
12.Reviews and directs the development of new market opportunities and requirements for existing services bringing these for approval to senior management at the appropriate time.
13.Ensures that effective corporate systems, procedures and financial controls are established and maintained for the territorys operations.
14.Takes action to correct unsatisfactory conditions that may arise in any phase of the operation and orders or directs whatever action may be deemed necessary to accomplish forecasted objectives.
15.Ensures proper staffing levels, as well as training and development of the necessary personnel to maintain an organization capable of achieving the corporations goals and objectives.
16.Responsible for motivating and employing the human resources involved toward achieving the end objectives of the corporation.


PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
1.A proven record of developing new business through an established network of relationships within the nonresidential construction industry; with the demonstrated ability to manage a sizable region. This would include the overall ability to function as a General Manager with responsibility for sales and marketing, project management/operations and full profit and loss management.
2.Significant experience in developing and executing construction projects with the ability to minimize risk exposure and maximize profit margins.
3.A strategic thinker with creativity and skill needed to compete effectively against industry leaders who are proposing on the same projects. This implies the ability to position the firm effectively with respect to stressing the benefits of doing business with a world class/worldwide construction firm that provides the highest level of service quality and expertise to its clients.
4.Significant experience in providing management direction to major projects through key subordinates. This involves the ability to manage effectively the staffing issues, costs, safety and technical issues associated with construction projects.
5.Mature judgment, and the analytical skills to manage day-to-day operations, including acknowledged experience and awareness to build on the strengths of the organization, its management team and core employee population.
6.An individual who is self-motivated, possesses the instincts of an entrepreneur, and has the ability to manage effectively while building and energizing certain aspects of the construction business that need focus, fine tuning or requires certain adjustments.
7.Excellent personal presentation and communication skills associated with providing leadership within the region and in presenting the corporations capabilities to prospective client customers. The final candidate has to be fully capable of representing the corporation effectively with customers, employees, industry groups and the communities in which the corporation conducts its businesses.
8.Demonstrated experience participating in community involvement activities that raise the profile of the organization, provide networking opportunities and expose the organizations leadership to like-minded decision-makers in local corporate and municipal institutions.
9.Adetermination to succeed combined with a strong personal work ethic that sets a positive tone within the organization and embodies leadership by example.
10.A team player and motivator who can build an esprit de corps among managers and employees that is vital to the continued success of the regions operations. The ability to develop and build within the region new business with strong margins, combined with an organization dedicated to creating operating efficiencies and the higher standards of quality and safety with respect to all projects.

EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, ideally in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred; a graduate degree such as Master of Business Administration would be a plus.
