What is Vice President Construction Developer Job Description ?

Vice President of Construction candidates will be considered from any of the following industries:

The preferred candidate will possess the majority of the following characteristics, skills, experience and management traits:

It will depend on the persons strengths and abilities as far as who would report to the Director of Construction. Currently the design team reports to the Sr. VP of Design, but we are open on this point, given the complexities and volume of projects on hand.

Size and volume of projects: $1B 120 projects amounting to 80 of the project cost. Twenty of the big projects are all new projects, spread out over all seven properties. This person will travel 50 60% of the time.

We are looking for a person who can be groomed for the Sr. VP of Construction position when the current Sr. VP retires.

The qualified candidate will have managed MULTIPLE projects at the $100 million level.

The right candidate will have a measurable and proven record of establishing goals and driving results. This person needs to understand design, construction and operations and can therefore translate action plans between the three groups so that all are on the same page. Knowing all sides of the equation is inherently important, but the core strength should come from the construction side of the business complimented by an intuitive understanding of design which will help this candidate implement design projects. Scheduling, budgeting, understanding cost control software as well as the Primavera scheduling software is fundamental to success in this position. This person will also understand measurement tools and will have the ability to apply them. An ability to multi-task is of primary importance given that we have $1B in projects, rolling out over seven different locations at once. Being highly organized and detail oriented is or primary importance and will play a key role in this persons success of this job.
