It also has a number of leading convention center clients; the Orange County Convention Center, San Diego Convention Center, the Javits Center, and the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Reorganized the companys design and construction and capital purchasing divisions.

4/95- 1/07 - Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York
General Manager and Senior Vice President

The Javits Center is New York Citys convention center and corporate event venue. It is the highest occupancy venue of its type in the nation.

Requested by NY State Governors office to join team determined to reform a notorious union labor situation and to rebuild the Center's declining business.

Successfully renegotiated all labor contracts, hired and trained a new work force without business disruption. Instituted rigorous maintenance programs and established an energy management program to control costs.

During this 11-year period, business flourished and customer service improved remarkably. In 1994, the Centers gross revenues were $35 million with a net loss of $1.62 million.
Since 1995, the Center has operated at a profit. For the year 2006, gross revenues were $ 126.3 million, with profits if $ 8.9 million. The Javits Center is the only convention center in the nation that operates at a profit year to year.

This performance was due to the take-over of a large labor force, new on-site services, and a rejuvenated sales and marketing effort. My team pursued an aggressive sales strategy and created price and service incentives which have worked to draw old customers back, attract new ones, and enable long time customers to grow.

On the service side of the business, a Customer Service Division was organized which consolidated and changed the fashion in which the Center markets and supplies utility, cleaning and other show related services. Also reorganized was the utility services division (electric, theatrical, telecommunications and plumbing) with improved productivity and new product offerings. Additionally, certain joint ventures were negotiated to enhance the Center's catering, wireless telecommunications, business center enterprises and advertising and media sales.

For 2004 and 2006 I was named one of the Top 100 - Most Influential people in the trade show industry by Trade Show Week magazine.

3/94 - 4/95 - Binoptic International Corp., Norcross, GA.

12/86 - 2/94 - Ogden Corporation and Convention Center Operating Corporation
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York

4/82 -11/86 - National Broadcasting Company

Responsible for the companys Plant Modernization project for NBC's refrigeration and boiler plants at Rockefeller Center, Brooklyn Studios, New Jersey Cold Storage and the World Trade Center transmitter. The project lasted 2 years and cost $6 million.

Military Service:

6/70 1/77 U. S. Naval Officer (Navy Pilot) Remained until the end of my obligated service. Most of my experience was in fleet operational squadrons as division officer, aircraft commander, maintenance test pilot, and detachment officer-in-charge.
