Summary of Qualifications
With over 20 years experience working in shipyards, on ships, barges, oil rigs, and tugs, I achieved the title of Master Craftsman where I was cross trained as a First class tradesman in the following categories: Outside Machinist, Ship fitter, Heavy Rigger, and ABS Certified Welder. I was also the sole Mechanic for the Mobile Airport Authority at their Brookley Complex and the Shop Foreman and Head Mechanic at Golden Stevedoring/Alabama State Docks.

I am a Quality Assurance Inspector for Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding with my main inspections in Machinery. I am also able to perform pipe inspections including P1 piping (pressurized, vital systems), p2 piping (pressures under 150 psi and non lethal systems) and P3 piping (brazed joints), hull or structural welds, joiner work like foundations for ship's accessories, insulation like fire retardant and sound, radar control systems to keep a minimum radar presence on the ship, sheet metal, and I am a NAVSEA NBPI Certified Paint inspector certificate #30717.

I was one of the few workers who went from a 2nd class machinist to a First Class machinist at Atlantic Marine under Paul Stacy, Machinist Foreman. I repaired and rebuilt ship's machinery (davits, anchor windlasses, pumps, motors, turbines, bull gears, thrusters, valves, reach rods, etc... At Alabama Shipyard we built new ships from the ground up building foundations for ship's machinery based on blue prints and field conditions.
