SUMMARY
Operations Manager; for the City of Hallandale Beach Responsibilities include but are not limited to Directing & Managing all Operations of Public Works, Engineering & Utilities Divisions and all administrative requirements for developing administering departmental budgets. Directing & coordinating all City projects for Engineering, Water Plant, Water Distribution, Landscaping, Sanitation, Sewer & Storm Water, Fleet Maintenance & Streets Division, including equipment maintenance, purchasing, vendor contracts along with personnel hiring & dismissals in conjunction with submitting agenda requests and information along with monthly reporting to the City Commission and City Manager.
Selected Accomplishments
City Water Plant Construction
Work with developer and contractor during the construction of a Nanofiltration Water Treatment Plant. Responsibilities include but were not limited to; weekly inspection and construction update meetings, ensuring all building and equipment specification were followed including developing a blending well so that the new plants effluent could be blended with old water plants line softening effluent. Budget cost 26 million, project completed on schedule and under budget (22 million.)
City Water Main Project
Project Manager directing and managing an in-house main distribution line project consisting of 4,000 feet of 16 C-900 pipe, 100 in-line valves, 20 fire hydrants, 40 service connections, 16 median islands, F-curbing, D-curbing and full depth reclamation. Project consisted of eight phases scheduled for 18 months, competed in 14 months. Projected cost $4.2 million actual cost $3.2 million.
Broward County City Road Project
Project Manager for 1.2 miles reconstruction of Hallandale Beach City main thoroughfare to include moving all electrical, phone, cable and traffic signalization underground, reconstruction and landscaping of 12 medians including irrigation, up-lighting, drainage and curbing. Projected cost $12.3 million, actual cost $11.9 million.
Hallandale Beach VIP Center Rehabilitation
Directed and supervised rehabilitation of a the Citys VIP Center providing detail summary for RFP to include demolition of 1st & 2nd floors approximately 6,000 SQF and developing main ballroom and 3 major conference rooms. Project schedule for 24 months completed in 20 months projected cost $750.000, actual cost $675,000.
Department of Public Works Policy & Procedure Manual
Reviewed all Departmental Polices & Procedures to ensure established procedures and guidelines for all operational areas to include but not limited to Water Plant Distribution, Landscaping, Sanitation, Sewer & Storm Water, Fleet Maintenance and Streets Division.
Fleet Maintenance
Developed and coordinated a vehicle maintenance and replacement program providing annual recommendation and justification for acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of city vehicles with a cost savings of approximately $300,000 over a three year period.
Park Maintenance and Construction
Project Manager for the development and construction of 6-acer facility including a community center, public tennis court, racquetball courts, outdoor basketball courts, and sand volleyball courts, as well as softball diamonds, playground, and concession stand. Projected cost $4.1 million project completed on-time and within budget.
Municipal Complex Emergency Generator
Project Manager for the retrofit of 1 Meg Emergency Generator to include new Automatic Transfer Switch, 2,000 gal Fuel Tank, and 150 MPH rated Enclosure. Project schedule for 120 days completed 100 days, projected cost $212,000 actual cost $188,000.
Main Lift Station Rehabilitation
Project Manager responsible for directing and supervising the Citys central lift station rehabilitation which include but not limited to re-lining walls, developing new 16 by-pass, adding new 300 KW Generator, Automatic Transfer Switch, security system and cameras. Project schedule 180 days completed 160 days project cost $775,000 actual cost $689,000.
Adopt-A-Shoreline
Project Coordinator for a litter prevention program for all beaches and all body of water located in the City. Responsibilities include communication with the Marine Advisory Committee and Volunteer Groups. Provide scheduling for Beach and Waterways Clean-ups. Develop program manual, signs, news letter along with safety meeting and designated areas of responsibilities.
2002 Winter Olympics Projector Director
Project Director for the 2002 Winter Olympics Salt Lake City, Utah Directed and managed eight competition venues, eight training venues and awards ceremony compound which consisted of construction, operation and security projects, included working with Homeland Security assisting in developing an Executive Security Training Program to coincide with the Secret Service. Acted as an Ambassador to Dignitaries, VIPs and Heads of State, including coordinating detailed travel arrangements for all VIPs.
Operational Repair Coordinator for Commander Submarine Sixteen
Directed and managed maintenance overhauls for eight Nuclear Submarines, duties included but were not limited to managing production schedules for twelve operational divisions ensuring interfacing with all civilian contractors and production divisions. Conducted daily briefings & interfacing with Squadron Commanders & Submarine Captains on status of repairs, equipment & supplies.
