James Snipp is a senior level project engineer and manager. During his professional career, he has acquired a wide range of engineering experience and proficiencies. He continues to effectively manage and create solutions for a varying array of engineering challenges, while maintaining budgets and schedules within diverse, evolving, and often unique technical environments.
With over 20 years of project engineering and management experience, Mr. Snipp has successfully managed and completed projects and associated activities in excess of $48 million dollars. This ranges from capital improvement projects in hi-tech and industrial manufacturing, to chemical process plants and institutional research facilities. As a Lead Engineer in mechanical design, manufacturing, and fabrication, he has successfully directed efforts in developing and selecting capital equipment for conventional industrial applications including: manufacturing and process facilities producing a wide range of products; industrial HVAC modifications and MEP upgrades; material handling and conveying. Within the nuclear field, Mr. Snipps experience includes senior engineering roles in nuclear fuels processing, nuclear power generation, and particle physics research. Recently, Mr. Snipp served as Engineering Technical Leader and Sr. Mechancial Project Engineer for General Electrics GE/Hitachi Nuclear Energy business unit where he directed a team of engineers to facilitate the manufacture and installation of nuclear safety related equipment in 14 power plant sites around the U.S.
Mr. Snipp has been engaged by several prestigeous concerns including Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, General Electric Co., and Dow Chemical Co. where he held responsible engineering and project management positions.
Mr. Snipp attended the University of California, Davis from 1974 to 1979, where he pursued bachelor degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and General Physics. He currently holds a State of California E.I.T. certificate, issued in 1984. Mr. Snipp has earned Engineering and Management Certificates from Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Born in Bakersfield, CA. and raised on a farm near the town of Livingston CA., Mr. Snipp lives with his wife and daughter in San Francisco, CA.
