For CPS Energy: Managed a $5 million project for the Fossil Generation Division. Took over a contentious project team in the midst of cost overruns and internal strife. Settled conflicts, brought project back onto budget, and restored customer satisfaction with the project. RESULTS: This project is on track to be completed on time and within budget
For CPS Energy: Managed a fast-paced $2.5 million project for the System Measurement and Technology Division. Worked closely with the customer to develop detailed requirements and space planning. Customer design details were sufficiently developed that architectural and engineering design work was cut in half. Established a strong collaborative relationship with the Contractor to maximize customer value. Coordinated and managed the move of all customer furnishings and equipment into the new space. RESULTS: This highly visible project was completed on time and within budget.
For CPS Energy: Provided proactive project management and team leadership to remodel and equip a new customer service center for the Retail Energy Division on an aggressive time schedule and a tight budget. Worked closely with both executive management and user-level employees to clearly define requirements and establish expectations. Developed partnerships and alliances with key internal team members to establish and maintain a strict schedule for completion. RESULTS: The facility was delivered on time and within budget For Port San Antonio: Managed multiple, simultaneous projects for high profile tenant customers in an industrial office/manufacturing complex with 14 million square feet of facilities on 1,800 acres. Met with diverse customers, such as USAF, to identify needs, evaluate all solution options, and develop project scope, IDIQ, RFP, or RFB procurement documents and timelines. Planned and coordinated all project aspects from design and budget through implementation. Supervised multiple contractors throughout process. Coordinated critical activities with staff of utility companies and city and state agencies. Maintained consistent communication with all stakeholders to mitigate potential conflict and provide timely problem resolution. RESULTS: Drove the timely, on-budget completion of 406 projects valued at $101.4 million over a ten year period
For Port San Antonio Spearheaded a solution to rising roofing costs after the response to a major natural disaster caused a shortage of available materials. Worked with the engineer to bundle three individual roofing projects into one large project to save both time and money. Negotiated volume discounts with material suppliers. RESULTS: Saved the company $350K in project costs and facilitated expedited project completion.
For Port San Antonio: Streamlined construction timing for third party funded projects. Analyzed existing policies and identified opportunity for improvement. Developed a revised policy that allowed CEO approval of third party funded contracts without prior review by Board of Directors. Presented the proposal to senior management and secured agreement. Coordinated implementation of the new policy. RESULTS: Use of the new policy reduced construction schedules by 30 days and saved the expense of 300 overtime labor hours.
For Port San Antonio: Created and implemented a preconstruction meeting information packet for every contractor working with the firm. Developed materials including corporate procedures, tenant information, and project related forms. RESULTS: Critical preliminary information allowed contractors to start each project phase more quickly and with more efficiency. Also saved a minimum of four hours per project for each staff project manager.
