KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

* Created and implemented the new Store Brand Image requirements and compliance guidelines. Developed new store brand image painting, showroom equipment and exterior signage. Trained the field staff on interpreting and using the new standards and forms. Inspected over 200 locations and prepared cost estimates for proposed improvements. Result: Improved companywide brand image scores by 10% the first year. Company created the Brand Compliance Department to be responsible to rate each store and assist franchisees to make required improvements.
* Managed the project to ensure all retail convenience stores met the American Disability Act requirements within three years. Surveyed all 85 corporate owned stores and reported all non-compliance ADA issues. Result: Completed the planning and cost estimates for the changes and finished 15 of the stores within the first year.
* Analyzed cost savings ideas to reduce convenience store project costs by $600K or 28%. Discussed property size, building materials, building methods, building size and layout, site material finishes, equipment type and purchase vs. leasing. Result: Presented a new smaller sized building, cheaper building material finishes to the interior and exterior, purchase / lease smaller sites, used less expensive materials and implemented a better purchase program. The total proposed cost savings was $300K or 15%.
* Required to reduce the project schedule by six-weeks on the Pepsi Center Convenience Store. Met with the design firm to remove three weeks from the design and permitting schedule. Also, met with the General Contractor to reduce their schedule by three weeks. Agreed to expedite critical path equipment, work 10-12 hour days and weekends. This increased the project budget by $80K, which was approved by management. Result: Implemented and monitored the new plans. Successfully completed and opened the store ahead of schedule by one day. The project team received certificates of accomplishment from management.
* Responsible for re-imaging the exterior of 110 corporate owned stores within a one-year timeframe. Selected two preferred contractors, negotiated site costs and divided the stores equally between them. Monitored contractor schedules and visited sites to confirm work quality, completeness and customer satisfaction. Result: Completed all 110 locations within one-year. They all were completed on-time and within projected budgets. Store sales increased 4% and customer rating by two points.
* Responsible for rebuilding a truck stop that had a fire which destroyed half of the building. Sent engineers to the site to determine what needed to be replaced for redesign and fire damage mitigation. Designed a temporary power and control feed to open the fueling station. Contracted with the preferred general contractor to handle the reconstruction. Result: Reopened the fueling station within 21 days and completed the reconstruction within five months. Saved the company $600K in lost profits.
* Assigned to a project to complete the demolition and construction of six new convenience stores. Bid all six projects, selected the two best general contractors based on price and schedule, and worked with the design firm on streamlining their planning and permitting schedules to expedite the process. Result: Completed all six projects on-time and within budget. Average project completion time was 45 days vs. 60 days. The savings in project schedule increased the first year revenues 4%.
* Developed and managed capital construction projects for a refinery. Organized and managed the work of 100 contractors and employees during night shifts on three plant turnarounds. Result: Completed 50 projects on-time and within budget.
* Responsible for the Rocky Mountain regional capital construction and maintenance projects with an annual budget of $7M. Result: Successfully implemented and completed 14 new $2M convenience stores of which 90% were completed on-time and within budget.
