Terex AWP is a $2 billion (revenue) division of Terex Corporation. Our primary brand, Genie Industries, based in Redmond, WA, has approximately 4500 team members spread throughout the globe, though Redmond is the primary location, with 3000+ team members spread across the corporate campus.
The parent company, Terex, is a $7.5 billion (revenue) company that manufactures, sells and services capital equipment for the mining and construction industries world wide. Terex is a Fortune 500 company, with a listed stock on the NYSE. The company is headquartered in Westport, CT.
Genie is a company with a strong safety first mentality, team based culture, respect for the individual and high integrity. The company has grown rapidly over the past four years and is in the midst of a transition from a privately held small company, to a publicly owned big company. Management desires to maintain much of the small company informality while implementing some of the large company disciplines that are required in today's environment.
This position will oversee eight manufacturing plants in North America. The position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining strategies to ensure that manufacturing capacity and quality meet the current and future needs of the marketplace, our customers and Terex. This includes development and direction of all operational aspects such as capacity planning, capital budgeting and continuous improvement efforts. In addition, this position is responsible for furthering our lean journey through the implementation of policies and objectives associated with the continued practice of the Terex Business System (TBS), the foundation of our operating system.
Knowledge and Skills
1. A thorough understanding of the Toyota Production System and demonstrated success in its implementation is required.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have experience and comfort communicating with all levels of Team Member, from entry level Production Specialist to C-level executives.
3. Exceptional coaching and development skills, including the ability to identify, mentor and retain key Operational talent, grow leaders, and maintain a strong bench of talent to sustain the manufacturing business.
4. Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
5. Ability to collaborate with other functions such as Engineering, Sales, Marketing and TBS to optimize plant capacity, quality and timely delivery.
6. Ability to understand and direct organizational efforts to comply with quality system requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field required. Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
15+ years manufacturing experience, including 10 years direct plant management experience is required. Experience managing multiple plants a must; experience with geographically dispersed sites is preferred.
