Overview:
The Office of the Chief EPC Engineer is staffed with highly experienced engineers. The primary objective of this senior group is to provide technical advice and consultation to our project management, engineering, procurement, construction organizations. The OCE sets engineering policy on technical matters and acts as the arbiter for technical disputes that may arise between interdisciplinary groups, or between us and our suppliers or our clients. Another key objective of the OCE is to assure that process safety and operability are addressed in the engineering design.
The OCE provides corrosion, metallurgical, and materials engineering support for the organization. Also, the OCE provides consulting advice and oversight (as needed) for critical heat transfer (including fired heater) equipment, pressure vessel equipment and piping, and marine engineering for our projects.
Primary Functions:
- Define EPC policy of significant technical issues
- Provide focused technical analysis and direction on resolving problems that may develop on a project
- Provide overview of materials selection diagrams and specifications, and resolve material and metallurgical problems as they occur. Consult on all materials/metallurgy issues and coordinate failure analyses when required
- Provide a technical overview of critical heat transfer equipment
- Provide a technical overview of critical pressure vessel and piping systems
- Provide a technical overview of the marine engineering scope for our projects
- Organize and direct the activities of outside technical consultants when needed to assist with the solution of problems on EPC projects
- Provide consultation for Discipline Function Team regarding technical issues
- Provide guidance regarding EPC standards and specification
