GENERAL PURPOSE
The Corporate Director of Purchasing works with the Regional Vice Presidents, Vice President F&B, Vice President Culinary, Corporate Department Heads and Development team to integrate procurement initiatives through the company. This position reports to the Vice President Hotel F&B Operations, and works closely with the Corporate, Regional and Property Leadership Network. This position is based in Denver, Colorado. A main emphasis of this position will be the development of a procurement department for both hotel operations and new developments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and facilitate all facets of supply management activities between division business units and their suppliers.
Coordinate, track, and monitor Avendra and all corporate program compliance
Monitor commodity markets, and protect pricing for big spend items
Partner with VP Culinary, and Regional VP?s to keep properties informed of cost variances and alternative product selection
Develop system to track and monitor rebates
Implement sourcing strategies to support corporate and divisional objectives, providing the company competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services.
Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs.
Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.
Negotiate and manage all contracts and agreements for assigned commodities
Manage suppliers, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned commodities.
Develop cross-functional teams to understand company-wide needs and evaluate suppliers.
Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process for; operations and development.
Develop strategies for assigned procurement area to include spend analysis, market and geographic considerations, strategic importance, etc.
Manage and optimize supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership.
Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and the business community
Solicit vendor support for company events requiring sponsorship
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
Travel is required for meetings, training, conferences and task forces
