We have an immediate opening in our Richmond, VA office for a self-starting individual who will play an important role in organizing, conceptualizing, and implementing real estate development projects. This person will be responsible for managing projects in the Mid-Atlantic region for the development pipeline. The position will have the bottom line responsibility for bringing projects in on time and on budget.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong analytical background- Develop and maintain the overall project budget and schedules- Manage the design and construction process- Qualify, contract, and manage all third-party consultants and contractors- Prepare a variety of analyses, statements and reports for management, equity partners and lenders - Lead the zoning and entitlement process- Prepare budget with cash flow projections and modeling
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in the development of large mixed-use or retail projects with specific experience in:¨ Zoning and governmental processing¨ Land development¨ Residential and retail design and construction¨ Project financing¨ Team management experience- Bachelor degree required; MBA or MS preferred
SKILLS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills- Solid understanding of successful project management practices- Solid technical skills; knowledge of current design and construction techniques- Ability to prioritize work; excellent time management skills- Strong interpersonal skills; builds effective relationships- Highly motivated self-starter- Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (Microsoft Project and Sage Timberline a plus)- Understanding of the development process
