We are seeking a qualified Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) professional to join Consolidated.
The successful candidate must be a strong HSSE leader with demonstrated skills and experience in planning, implementing and coordinating safety programs requiring application of engineering principles and technology to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions.
General Responsibilities:
* Manage, guide, train and supervise safety personnel within the safety department.
* Manage and maintain a corporate substance abuse program.
* Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
* Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
* Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
* Maintains organized safety records, training records and files.
* Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment.
* Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
* Review plans and evaluates bid proposals and future work with project managers to insure compliance with customer safety requirements.
* Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
* Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
• Manage the safety programs, policies and procedures to protect the company’s interest.
Qualifications for the Position:
Position requires a BS degree in Occupational Safety Management with 4 years work-related experience in heavy construction or the petroleum industry (pipeline a major plus). Individual must have thorough knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926. Individual must have management experience with strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to take charge, and offer opinions and direction to management. Position also requires extensive travel throughout the United States.
