We are currently accepting resumes for a Director of Development. The Director of Development and Construction will be responsible for but not limited to the overall quality of the existing and future construction projects from managing the renovations to overseeing the opening of new full and limited service hotels. The responsibility include direct accountability for quality, timelines, expenses, staffing, minimizing guest disruption; follow up with designers, architects, general contractors, engineers, City officials, etc.
The Director of Development and Construction will be accountable for the life of each project. Candidate must be capable of reviewing the original plans for recommendations on needed changes, monitor the project team and keep them focused on the specified timelines and stay within the set budgets. This will take a coordination effort between the contractors, designers, City officials, franchisors, etc. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing proper specs for each item being purchased and properly putting necessary items out for bid and presenting the bids to the VP of Development.
Job Requirements:
* 2-3 years in commercial or hospitality development experience with increasing responsibility.
* Work under limited supervision in a team environment.
* Capacity to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
* Knowledge of construction means and methods of entire development and building process.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Intermediate to advanced PC literacy including spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling software.
* Must be detailed oriented.
