Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the design of the plans, the preliminary estimations and the details with the use of the guidelines for the projects relating to the field of environmental engineering.
* Assist with environmental site assessments, impact assessments, ground water and soil sampling, mitigation measures, environmental regulatory process management and remediation projects that impact municipalities.
* Apply related regulatory environment and legislative requirements.
* Develop and evaluation of alternative solutions and best management practices and strategies.
* Collaborating with senior design professionals within GENIVAR from other regions.
* Establish and maintain relations with the clients in order to define their needs, explain technical information, concepts or study results.
* Provide training, support and mentoring to junior staff.
* Verify and accomplish the request for proposals, estimates and other technical documents.
* Perform all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project.
Qualifications
* A University degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
* Carry a designation as a P.Eng. with APEGGA.
* A minimum of 7 years experience in North America, preferably in a consulting environment.
* Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar modeling software, AutoCAD or Microstation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and public consultation skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
* Experience and knowledge of modeling municipal systems, regional systems, pump selection, and treatment processes are necessary in this position.
* Knowledge and application of Alberta Environment Standards and guidelines, and additional regulatory environmental and legislative requirements.
* Valid drivers license as some travel will be required.
* The desire to excel and achieve, good initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team environment.
