Vice President Construction   Employer: Energy Placement Inc Job Location: El Cerrito , CA Cash Compensation: Industry Type: Construction Recruiters Job Description: The VP of Construction applies a thorough understanding of large, complex construction projects and a sound commercial acumen to the creation and execution of the company's project fulfillment goals on a global level. • Provides leadership and oversight to the directors overseeing daily project development relating to estimating, design, and construction functions. • Ensures all projects are designed and built in accordance with quality standards, budgets, and project schedules. • Ensures customer satisfaction goals are met. • Identifies potential risks/issues and provides options for resolution. • Works with projects operations staff, CFO, and sales to ensure that company earnings goals are met. • Provides guidance, support, and training to all department managers as needed. • Creates and implements staffing plan for department; including hiring, disciplining, and training senior staff. • Creates and maintains monthly, annual, and multi-year department budgets. • Oversees subcontractor qualification and procurement. • Ensures the site safety and risk management programs are implemented and enforced. • Regularly reports to executive staff on project status. • Works closely with Product Development Department to constantly improve product offering and reduce costs. • Works closely with in-country General Managers and legal staff to insure compliance with local employment, tax, contracting, and insurance laws. • Directly supervises, Director of Projects and Director of Project Design. Is executive lead of global departments consisting of upward of 75 staff members. Qualifications: Basic Minimum Requirements : • Bachelors Degree relevant • Masters Degree is preferred. • At least 17 years progressive commercial construction management experience in a design-build environment. • Executive Management experience in global $700 M companies is also required • Demonstrated ability to successfully forecast, create, and manage multi-million dollar and multi-year Divisional budgets • A strong understanding of financial tracking and reporting. • Excellent and proven leadership and personnel management skills. • Thorough knowledge of commercial project development. • Ability to read blue prints and electrical diagrams and familiarity with building and electrical codes. • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-national construction programs • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead Construction Safety and Risk Management programs. •Travel 20% (International and domestic travel Company Description: Energy, Engineering, IT, Science, Technical Recruitment Services and Jobs Advertising.
