Based in Wilmington, NC, you will be working for a leading provider of large plate injection molding machinery, large high rotary blow molding machinery for making plastic bottles, multilayer co-extrusion systems and highly specialized machinery for proprietary processing applications. Job Description: -Being a Leader to the design team. -Timely and disciplined research or development work involving mechanisms, motion and metallurgy, design of new models involving mechanical, -Preparation of accurate layouts, drawings and calculations while adhering to industry, government and company standards. -Specifying requirements to control motion of mechanical designs and coordinate with Control Engineers, Design Team and other departments for proper function and operation of equipment. -Managing multiple projects and supervision and direction of others in the preparation of layouts, detail drawings and Bills of Materials. -Responsible for understanding the entire Code of Conduct and complying with its requirements -Other duties as assigned Job Requirements: -Minimum Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Masters degree a plus. -Multiple years of experience in designing primary processing machinery. Plastics industry a plus. -Broad knowledge of motion, actuators, metallurgy, fasteners, power transmission, fabrication and metal machining. -Fluent in 3-D software, preferably Inventor. -Knowledge and implementation of FEA. -Experience in the development of Multi-level Bills of Materials. -Have worked in an MRP environment. -Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficient in MS Office, Excel and basic spread-sheet programs. -Possess strong problem solving and technical solution recommendation abilities.
