Chief Construction Engineer – Mechanical & Piping   Employer: Shaw Group Job Location: Charlotte , NC Cash Compensation: Industry Type: Design Build Firms Job Description: Leads the development and implementation of Shaw’s program for standardized piping/ mechanical operations for nuclear construction projects. Responsible for establishing the installation methods & procedures for piping/ mechanical systems/ equipment at multiple nuclear construction sites in the US. Formulates and implements the plans for installation of plant piping systems and mechanical equipment, including: procurement, expediting/ delivery, storage/ handling, assembly and installation, and construction testing. Assists Construction Site Management in: 1) staffing the on-site piping/ mechanical activities with qualified plant supervisors and operators, and 2) developing plans and procedures for operating the plants. Implements a program of rigorous compliance with Shaw’s nuclear quality assurance and quality control requirements. Implements Shaw’s safety program for piping/ mechanical operations. Based out of Charlotte, NC, with frequent travel to Nuclear Construction sites particularly in the southeastern US. Detailed coordination with manufactures/ suppliers for the manufacture, delivery, and qualification of bulk piping & piping spools, pipe hanger material and mechanical equipment. Works with Construction, Engineering, Procurement and Quality Control personnel in the selection of sources for and the qualification of suppliers. Minimum Years Experience15 plus. Experienced in managing multiple on-site piping/ mechanical projects, including: installation and /or replacement of power and process plant piping systems installation and /or replacement of major components installation and/or replacement of plant mechanical systems installation of mechanical equipment in power plants installation of mechanical and piping modules installation of piping and mechanical systems utilizing state of the current art technologies and processes.
