Job Description: Job Duties:
Support the SHS&Q Director, Nuclear Safety Director and Project Directors/Managers to ensure compliance with statutory and contract fire protection requirements and the identification and mitigation of fire hazards and risks to the public, our workforce, and programs. Interface with the DOE RL Fire Protection Engineer to ensure appropriate and timely communication of fire protection issues, status, corrective actions, and activities. Interface with the Hanford Fire Marshal relative to the administration and implementation of the Site-Wide Fire Protection Program. This includes review/concurrence of all FPP policy/procedure and directive changes, participation on the Hanford Fire Marshal Advisory Board, and functioning as a Deputy Fire Marshal. Provide managerial and administrative support, oversight, leadership, and direction to fire protection engineers assigned to CHPRC projects.

Required Qualifications:
• Candidate shall possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline with at least ten years recent experience in a predominantly fire protection engineering role.
• Candidate shall be able to obtain a 'Member Grade' in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
• Candidate shall possess and demonstrate strong communication, creative problem solving, and effective interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of NFPA, DOE, and building code fire protection requirements and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of fire protection engineering principles and a commitment to fire hazard reduction and life safety improvements.
